Welcome to the Department of Computer Science and Applications
The Department of Computer Science and Applications offers innovative and career-oriented programs such as B.Sc. (Computer Science), Data Science, B.Sc Honors, B.Com. in Computer Applications, and M.Sc Computer Science, designed to equip students with skills essential for the digital age. More than 2000 students have opted for Computer Science/Applications as one of their major subjects.
Since its inception in 1998, the department has been one of the most vital units of the college in terms of student strength, academic performance, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, and student mentoring. It has played a pivotal role in guiding learners toward academic and professional excellence.
The department takes pride in producing distinguished alumni who have excelled in various fields, bringing recognition and glory to both the department and the college. The faculty, with their commitment to teaching and research, have contributed significantly through scholastic activities beneficial to students and the institution as a whole.
Currently, the department has 10 faculty members, of which one holds a Doctorate while the others are pursuing research degrees in addition to possessing UGC-accredited NET/SET qualifications. Over the years, experienced faculty have efficiently served as Heads of the Department. At present, Dr. G Sreenivasa Reddy is leading the department as Head and Chairman of the Board of Studies.

- Our Team was Selected for State level Jignasa Compition.

- MS Office & Internet Applications — for 180+ non-computer students.
- Frontend Development — for computer students.
- 2024–25: Organized a National Level Two-Day Seminar on “Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education & Research” held on & .
- 2021–22: Organized a National Level One-Day Workshop on “Artificial Intelligence & Its Applications” held on .
- 2019–20: B.Sc. (CS) final-year students completed the project “Digitalization of Machapur Village” under the statewide Jignasa Programme organized by TS CCE. The project won 2nd Prize and a cash award of ₹18,000/-.
- 2018–19: Conducted a Certificate Course on “Basic Computer Skills and Internet Applications” for non-computer students of the college.

2017–18:
- Final-year B.Sc. (CS) students presented their project on “Assembly of a Computer.”
- Organized an industrial visit to the Centre for Good Governance (CGG), Gachibowli, Hyderabad for staff and 50 students to learn about software development and coding systems.
Through such academic initiatives, projects, and outreach activities, the department continues to foster innovation, research, and holistic development, preparing students for a successful future in the ever-evolving digital world.
